A. You have two options: either sell the car with the device installed as a unique sales/security feature, or the system can be removed, subject to charges.

A. The system can be placed into ‘VALET’ mode, which will put the device to sleep for a set period or until the vehicle travels over a certain speed limit. If the time or speed is breached, the device will automatically re-arm itself. These functions are set by you, and your engineer will explain how to enter these modes. This ensures your PIN remains discreet in any circumstance.

A. Your engineer will provide a demonstration and send an additional email explaining the process. These devices feature an emergency PIN that is unique to the device fitted. A card with the unique PIN will be issued at the time of installation.

A. Thieves will not be able to take your car even if they have your keys. They need to know the PIN to start the car.

A. There are alternatives to the No Pin No Start functionality. Please see the products page for alternative options. In this scenario, we highly recommend installing a tracker with driver detection to retrieve the vehicle after such an unfortunate event.

A. We understand that entering a PIN can be daunting. Your PIN can be as simple or as complex as you wish. After the first few times of entering the PIN, it will become second nature. If the PIN concerns you, please see the product pages for other options.

A. In short, no. Immobilisers, trackers, and alternative devices can be found and disarmed if the thief has enough time. No security feature is guaranteed to be unbeatable. However, it is imperative to make it as difficult as possible for the thief. Immobilisers are designed to withstand a 60-second attack and prevent your car keys from being cloned. Thatcham-approved trackers, hidden discreetly, mean you can retrieve your car after an unfortunate event. The systems are designed to be installed discreetly, reducing the chance of detection and removal.

A. Some EV/PHEV/MHEV can be protected but there are only a small amount that can. The majority cannot because the software has not yet been written for the vehicle. However there are alternative options such as the Throttle Killer/Response Controller which will protect an EV/PHEV/MHEV

A. The Throttle Killer should take in the region of 60-90 minutes to be installed.

A. The benefits of a Throttle Killer/Response Controller means that the Throttle can be locked and prevented from being used. It also enables certain modes to be enabled. There are a few – ECO, PARKING, CITY, TOUR, SPORT and FAST mode. Each mode controls the amount of response you get from the Throttle. For example, PARKING mode will limit the speed that vehicle can achieve. Whereas FAST mode gives you full Throttle Response and you have no delay on the Throttle Press. This mode gives you increased performance in your vehicle.   

A. We offer a completely mobile service and will attend at a time suitable for you. Other companies tend to offer 2-3 hour slots and arrive within that range for a nominal fee. If we say we will arrive at 9:30, we will be there on the dot. Our installation fee does not change.

A. When your vehicle was produced, it was on a conveyor belt with hundreds of other cars, exactly like yours. The manufacturer places trackers in the same location for every car. Thieves know this and target these locations to remove the tracker. The vehicle's smart key disarms the
immobiliser. Once the key's information is replicated or cloned, the new key will disarm the immobiliser, rendering it useless. Aftermarket immobilisers and trackers can be installed in various locations, making it difficult for thieves
to locate them.

A. Quite possibly, yes. Speak with your insurer to confirm prior to installation. With Thatcham approved devices you get a certificate reference number to provide to insurers if you choose.

A. Thatcham approved tracking units are monitored by a 24 hour call centre who will be able to see exactly where your car is and it’s ignition status at any given time. Some
Thatcham approved models use driver detection by being installed alongside another device. This device is always recommended to be kept separate to the
vehicle keys and needs to be present when the vehicle is going to be driven. If the vehicle is driven without this device, you will receive a call from the provider to ensure everything is okay with your vehicle. Non approved devices will not be monitored by the tracking company and you will not be alerted if your vehicle moves. Therefore if your vehicle gets stolen during the hours of
slumber, you will wake and have to track this location yourself via an app or online webpage.
